“Forest Tales” for the Day Care Center and Pre-Kindergarten students

The students of Seniors Seeds and Pre-Kindergarten watched a glove-puppet performance by Ioanna Mamakouka entitled Forest Tales at Mandoulides Schools Cultural and Sports Center.

Three stories take place in the forest. In the first one we watched a little badger that gets lost in the forest and meets the other animals. The little badger defeats his fears through his adventures. The second story showed a dog while it still lived in the forest, trying to find a friend that is strong. After several encounters with other animals, he ended up with the man and went to live with him as his loyal companion. In the third story three elderly magicians and an apprentice magician meet in the forest at the annual magic contest.

Ioanna Mamakouka combined various techniques in the performance: gloves, masks, animation of objects. The sounds of the forest were played live with various musical instruments and so were many original songs by Liza Mamakouka on her guitar.
