Honorable Mention in the 37th Balkan Mathematical Olympiad

Our 12th grade Mandoulides Schools student Ioannis Dimoulios has received an Ηonorable Μention in the 37th Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (BMO 2020), which was organized by Romania and took place online, from 29 October until 3 November 2020.

It is worth mentioning that Ioannis also received an Honorable Mention in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2020) which took place as an online event, organized by Russia, from 18 until 28 September 2020.

The 37th Balkan Mathematical Olympiad was carried out online, following the decision of the BMO Advisory Board and prioritizing the safety of the participants, so every team was able to compete while remaining in its country and using a designated test center.

Apart from health protocols, special protocols aiming at ensuring the fairness of the contest and the validity of the test results were followed. So, special, new regulations were passed for this online, virtual event. According to these regulations, the whole process was being transmitted live to the οrganizers while the test tasks were sent to the participating countries a few minutes before the contest began.
