Karagkiozis… in our classrooms!
The unit of the Greek Language textbook that focuses on Karagkiozis acted as a stimulus in order for our 1st grade students to become more acquainted with this fictional character of Greek folklore.
Within the framework of the school subject of Theatre Education and Arts, our 1st graders created their own puppets of Karagkiozis and improvised dialogues, entering the magical world of shadow puppetry. They created their own play and presented it to their classmates, while learning how to move their puppets and change their voices.
Our classrooms transformed into shadow puppet theaters! Our little students collaborated with each other, developed their creativity and enjoyed themselves!
