Halloween festivities in the English Garden
Everybody loves Halloween, especially our English Garden students! As every year, in October, our students were introduced to this spooky Holiday! We read stories, listened to songs and learnt that although this holiday is only recently celebrated in Greece, it is of Irish origin and is extremely popular in America. Halloween is one of the most favorite children’s holidays during which big pumpkins are carved into lanterns and put out for display by people in their houses. Children dress up in spooky costumes such as ghosts, witches and skeletons and go trick or treating in their neighborhood to collect sweets and candies.
The children were very excited so we prepared our own Halloween baskets, made ghost crafts, black cats and pumpkins and decorated our classrooms in anticipation for the special day!
On the 31st of October little witches, skeletons, ghost and super heroes arrived at the English Garden ready for a special celebration. After carving our Jack o’ lanterns we went trick or treating to our friends’ classrooms and filled our baskets with special treats. Spooky science experiments followed; the Seeds, Blossoms and Beatles were mesmerized by the erupting jack’ o lanterns and inflatable ghosts and pumpkins! The day ended with a fun Halloween party including games, dancing and special treats!
It was definitely a day to be remembered!
