{"id":125514,"date":"2024-05-28T15:50:47","date_gmt":"2024-05-28T12:50:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mandoulides.edu.gr\/mandoulides-python-camp-2024-junior-high-school-final-competition\/"},"modified":"2024-05-28T15:50:47","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T12:50:47","slug":"mandoulides-python-camp-2024-junior-high-school-final-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mandoulides.edu.gr\/en\/mandoulides-python-camp-2024-junior-high-school-final-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Mandoulides Python Camp 2024:  Junior High School Final Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mandoulides Schools, as part of the educational activities they develop, organized the &#8220;Mandoulides Python Camp&#8221;, to capture the 7<sup>th<\/sup>, 8<sup>th<\/sup>, and 9<sup>th<\/sup> Grade students\u2019 interest in Programming and Algorithmic Thinking.<\/p>\n<p>More specifically, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the 7<sup>th<\/sup>, 8<sup>th,<\/sup> and 9<sup>th<\/sup> Grade students of the Schools attended the final competition and the award ceremony of the 8<sup>th<\/sup> and 9<sup>th<\/sup> Grade teams that participated in the &#8220;Mandoulides Python Camp 2024&#8221;. The final phase of the competition was held at the Cultural Centre of the Schools and 50 students participated in teams of 5 representing their classes. Through the competition, the 3 winning teams of 8<sup>th<\/sup> Grade and the 3 winning teams of 9<sup>th<\/sup> Grade were selected.<\/p>\n<p>The 8th and 9<sup>th<\/sup> Grade students were introduced to programming and learned to perform basic operations with variables in the Python programming environment, a high-level language. Through a 5-week program, they were taught how to write their own code and solve algorithmic problems.
