Mandoulides Schools has qualified for the final phase of the Panhellenic CANSAT\u202f2025 Space Competition.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the Junior and Senior High School students E. Giouvanopoulos, E. Mavridis, O. Milonas, Ch. Toumanidis and K. Chatzigeorgiou designed, built, and will launch a satellite the size of a soda can, which will collect atmospheric data.<\/p>\n<p>Our satellite\u202fis based on industry standards, both in terms of construction and programming. The \u201cERMIS\u201d team of the Schools has developed a structured scientific study for air quality analysis. This requires additional sensors and high technical specifications.<\/p>\n<p>The final phase of the competition will take place from April 24 to April 26, 2025, in Athens, and the winning team will represent Greece in the final phase of the Pan-European Space Competition.<\/p>\n<p>The competition is organized by ESA\u202f(European\u202fSpace\u202fAgency) and\u202fESERO. The Greek ESERO\u202fOffice is based at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH)\u202fand is a collaborative initiative between the European Space Agency-ESA and\u202fnational partners such as the Laboratory Centers for Natural Sciences, the Center for Digital Geographic Education, the Hellenic STEM Education Association, the ATLAS Research Group of AUTH, etc.<\/p>\n<p>In the competition, students are tasked with building a satellite the size of a can, which will be launched to an altitude of 1,000 meters, where it must collect scientific data and transmit it to a ground station.<\/p>\n<p>The winning team will have the opportunity to attend seminars by space industry experts and present their project as part of the CanSat \u201cSpace Engineer for one day\u201d award at\u202fESTEC (European Space Research and Technology Centre) in ESA\u202fin the Netherlands, on June\u202f17 &#8211; June 18, 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201cERMIS\u201d team of E.
