Our student M. \u2013 I. Szamosi- Kalligkatsi (10th grade) has been selected to participate in the international <\/span>TechGirls<\/span><\/i> program (Empowering Young Women to Engage in Science and Technology), which will take place from July 12 to August 3, 2025.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The program is under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State\u2019s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is a fully funded, four-week summer exchange designed to empower and support young women (ages 15\u201317) in pursuing higher education and careers in STEM fields through the development of practical skills. The program is administered by <\/span>Legacy International<\/span><\/i> in collaboration with <\/span>Virginia Tech University<\/span><\/i>, through its Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>TechGirls<\/span><\/i> program brings together 124 young women from 38 countries around the world and includes skill-building workshops, interactive sessions with leading American technology professors, and 40 hours of study and research at a Technology Camp in the laboratories of Virginia Tech.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
