Dimitris Toulis, a 12th-grade student at Mandoulides Schools<\/strong>, achieved a major national distinction by winning first place<\/strong> in the 1st Panhellenic Artificial Intelligence Competition (PAIC)<\/strong>. With his top performance, he secured the first of the four spots<\/strong> on the Greek National AI Team, which will represent Greece at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2025)<\/strong> in Beijing, China (August 2\u20139, 2025).<\/p>\n

The final phase of the competition, named \u201cPandora,\u201d<\/strong> took place in Athens with the participation of 90 students<\/strong> from across Greece. The top 25% of participants were recognized for their high scores, while four students were selected<\/strong> to form Greece\u2019s first National AI Team.<\/p>\n

Dimitris Toulis scored 239 points<\/strong>, the highest score<\/strong> in the final phase, significantly surpassing the other distinguished competitors. Notably, in the preliminary round he had already stood out, achieving 331.21 points in a system with a maximum of 330<\/strong>, as he developed a solution more efficient than the committee\u2019s proposed solution, earning a score exceeding the theoretical maximum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
