The 12th Panhellenic Student Art Games, organized by\u00a0Mandoulides\u00a0Schools\u00a0with the approval of the Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, were successfully completed from Thursday, February 12 to Saturday, February 14, 2026.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event brought together 51 schools from across Greece and the Greek Diaspora, with more than 900 students\u00a0participating\u00a0in a three-day celebration filled with inspiration, expression, collaboration, and creative dialogue. Contestants competed in six artistic categories: video, theatre, poetry, music (instrumental and choral ensembles), painting, and photography.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Art Games, a well-established institution and reference point for student artistic creation, once again confirmed their educational value by giving young people the opportunity to express themselves through art, sensitivity, and collective effort. It is worth noting that in 2024 the event received a Gold Award at the Education Leaders Awards, further enhancing its prestige and impact.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Art Games inspire young people to believe in the power of creativity and teamwork, to collaborate and express their inner world in a meaningful and human way through the language of art. At a time when school life needs more opportunities for creativity, cooperation, and authentic expression, the Student Art Games function as a living educational workshop: they strengthen aesthetic cultivation, highlight skills such as critical thinking and teamwork, foster respect for diversity, and give students the opportunity to engage with art as a tool of culture and social awareness,\u201d stated Ms.\u00a0Aspa\u00a0Chasioti, General Academic Director of\u00a0Mandoulides\u00a0Schools, who was responsible for the organization together with her distinguished colleagues.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In his address, Deputy Minister of Education Mr. Nikolaos Papaioannou emphasized to the participating students that \u201cno one would disagree that lower and upper secondary schools should normally,\u00a0not only within the framework of a competition,\u00a0be doing what took place\u00a0these days at\u00a0the\u00a0School\u2019s\u00a0campus. The future is not only mathematics, nor ancient Greek, nor physics;\u00a0though it includes them,\u00a0but also emotion and the value of being human. And\u00a0in order to\u00a0understand \u2018what I am\u2019 and \u2018why I am\u00a0human,\u2019\u00a0culture provides the proper foundation. Do not hesitate to ask, to question, to explore.\u201d He also noted that \u201cexcellence is not the same for everyone,\u201d stressing that the essence lies in the journey, the love for what one does, and one\u2019s personal goals.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Student creations were evaluated by distinguished figures from the artistic community, who served on the judging committees, highlighting the best entries and expressing their satisfaction with the\u00a0high level, dedication, and talent\u00a0demonstrated\u00a0by the students.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event culminated on Saturday, February 14, 2026, with the awards ceremony held at the Cultural and Athletic Center of\u00a0Mandoulides\u00a0Schools. The ceremony opened with a special musical and dance performance by students of the\u00a0Zografeio\u00a0Gymnasium\u2013Lyceum of Constantinople, symbolically connecting education, art, and the Greek Diaspora.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the theatre group of\u00a0Mandoulides\u00a0Schools\u2019\u00a0Gymnasium\u2013Lyceum presented a surprise performance dedicated to love, fittingly honored on that day.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among those attending and presenting awards were Deputy Minister of Education Mr. Nikos Papaioannou, Member of Parliament for Thessaloniki Mr. Dimitris\u00a0Kouvelas, Regional Vice Governor for Culture & Sports Mr. Christos\u00a0Mittas, Head of Europe Direct of the Municipality of Thessaloniki Ms. Olia Panagiotopoulou, representatives of the education authorities, academics, journalists, educators, parents, and students from participating schools.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 12th Panhellenic Student Art Games once again confirmed that when young people are given space, time, and a stage, art becomes a common language: it unites schools, bridges places and generations, and transforms student creativity into a cultural event of broader significance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
