{"id":157182,"date":"2026-02-27T10:08:30","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T08:08:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mandoulides.edu.gr\/?p=157182"},"modified":"2026-03-09T10:20:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T08:20:22","slug":"157182","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mandoulides.edu.gr\/en\/157182\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Educational Trip to the European Gravitational Observatory (EGO\/VIRGO) and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Italy \u2013 Switzerland<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Fortytwo\u00a011th grade\u00a0students\u00a0participated\u00a0in the annual school visit to the European Gravitational Observatory (EGO\/VIRGO) in Pisa, Italy, and to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland (23\u00a0&#8211;\u00a027\/02\/2026).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The European Gravitational Observatory aims to conduct research in the field of experimental and theoretical studies of gravitational waves in Europe, while also promoting the dissemination of information and providing advanced training to young researchers.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">CERN is one of the largest research centers in the world, with\u00a0enormous\u00a0global impact. Its research focuses on the fundamental physics of the structure of matter and the universe. CERN\u2019s accelerator and detector systems are the largest and most complex scientific instruments ever built for studying the basic building blocks of matter, the\u00a0elementary particles.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As part of the educational trip, students also visited the Olympic Museum in Lausanne and the Historical Museum \u2013 Einstein Museum in Bern. In addition, they toured the main sights of Bern, Lausanne, Geneva, and Milan.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Before the trip, students
