The Mixed Music Ensemble\u00a0<\/span>Echochromata<\/span><\/i>\u00a0[Orchestra & Choir] of\u00a0Mandoulides\u00a0Schools traveled to Austria, where it presented a special concert in Vienna, at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, on 25 April 2026. The trip and concert took place following an honorary invitation from the Holy Metropolis of Vienna and the Greek community of the city.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The title of the concert,\u00a0<\/span>A Scent of Greece<\/span><\/i>, reflects its essence: a bouquet of music and songs by distinguished Greek composers such as Manos\u00a0Hadjidakis, Evanthia\u00a0Reboutsika, and\u00a0Dionysis\u00a0Savvopoulos;\u00a0artists who have shaped Greek music as well as the more than 30<\/span>\u2011year history of the school\u2019s music ensembles. The ensemble has even had the honor of collaborating\u00a0multiple times in\u00a0live performances with the latter two composers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A particularly memorable moment was the participation of lyrical singer Xanthi\u00a0Tokmakidou<\/span>\u2011Trifunovi\u0107, a member of the Greek community in Vienna, who performed as\u00a0a soloist\u00a0and also\u00a0conducted the choir of the Holy Metropolis of Vienna, which opened the concert.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The atmosphere inside the historic church was both majestic and deeply moving, as the students delivered the repertoire with exceptional artistry. Students from Grade 7 through Grade 12 worked together to create an outstanding artistic result.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth noting the significant contribution of\u00a0alumna\u00a0Natalia Giogiou on the accordion,\u00a0an addition that elevated the artistic level of the concert and highlighted the enduring collaboration between graduates and current students\u00a0of\u00a0the school.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The arrangements and direction of the\u00a0<\/span>Echochromata<\/span><\/i>\u00a0ensemble were overseen by Mr. Giannis\u00a0Polymeneris, while the teaching and direction of the choir were led by Ms. Eleni Theodoridou.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
