Our school\u00a0participated\u00a0in the Panhellenic Student CPR Competition organized by\u00a0<\/span>Kids Save Lives \u2013 Children Save Lives<\/span><\/i>, which took place at the\u00a0Vellidio\u00a0Conference Center in Thessaloniki on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2026.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With\u00a0great joy\u00a0and pride, we took part\u00a0with\u00a0three student teams,\u00a0from Primary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School,\u00a0who stood out for their excellent performance, ethos, and teamwork.\u00a0Participating in such a competition is, in itself, a\u00a0valuable life experience, as it cultivates skills that can truly save lives.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Senior High School team won\u00a0<\/span>3rd place<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0receiving as\u00a0an award an educational training manikin for our school, further strengthening our ability to train students in First Aid.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The school teams consisted of the following students:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Primary School:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0S.\u00a0Kotsifyti, K.\u00a0Sarafidou\u00a0(alternate: A. Maragkou), (6th Grade)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Junior High School:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0E. Zachou (8th Grade), G. Lolas (8th Grade) (alternate: Z. Stathi, 7th Grade)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Senior High School:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0E.\u00a0Kostikidou, M. Chatzopoulou (alternate: Z.\u00a0Toptsi), (11th Grade)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, our school also\u00a0participated\u00a0in the\u00a0<\/span>Next Gen Video<\/span><\/b>\u00a0competition, on the topic\u00a0<\/span>\u201cWhy children should know First Aid.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0Our students\u2019 video won\u00a0<\/span>4th place<\/span><\/b>\u00a0through public voting, confirming the creativity and meaningful approach of our students to this important message.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A particularly moving moment of the event was the honorary awards for real-life rescue incidents. Our student, Th.\u00a0Zapris\u00a0(12th Grade), was honored for his immediate and effective intervention in a choking incident, where,\u00a0using the knowledge and skills he\u00a0acquired\u00a0through his school training,\u00a0he managed to save a human life.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This award recognized not only his action but also the entire\u00a0<\/span>\u201cchain of survival\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0behind it: education, the passing of knowledge from student to student, and the systematic effort carried out in our school. In this context, the program instructor, Despina Lygoura, the school nurse, was also honored, along with students A. Zachos, S. Kisoglou, and A.\u00a0Makedou\u00a0(12th Grade), who had distinguished themselves in the same competition in previous years. They were certified in First Aid (BLS) and later continued their training (BIC), becoming instructors who now actively contribute to the education of their peers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our participation in this event reaffirms that First Aid education is not merely knowledge;\u00a0it is a way of life. Because when children learn to offer help, they learn to protect life itself.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
