{"id":16479,"date":"2015-11-13T08:10:36","date_gmt":"2015-11-13T06:10:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mandoulides2.edu.gr\/zografeios-agon-short-story-contest-31-01-2016\/"},"modified":"2015-11-13T08:10:36","modified_gmt":"2015-11-13T06:10:36","slug":"zografeios-agon-short-story-contest-31-01-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mandoulides.edu.gr\/en\/zografeios-agon-short-story-contest-31-01-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Zografeios Agon Short Story Contest (31\/01\/2016)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u201cZografeios Agon\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Short Story Contest on the theme:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Istanbul: Real City or Dream City<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of the annual International Student Conference held in Istanbul, Zografeio Lykeio of Istanbul and Mandoulides Schools of Thessaloniki are reviving the\u00a0 \u201cZografeios Agon,\u201d a competition organized by the Philological Association of Istanbul in the late 19th century to award 10 of the best essays \u201con living monuments,\u201d essays that present \u201cGreek dialects, traditions and customs of the Greek people,\u201d with the \u201cgenerous sponsorship of the founder of the competition and great benefactor of the Association, Christakis Efenti Zografou.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cZografeios Agon\u201d contest today aims to become an international short story competition on the theme, Istanbul: Real City or Dream City.<\/p>\n<p>How can anyone forget the burden of the history of Istanbul, a rare metropolis that has existed for two thousand years and more? The diamond of the East and the dream of the West, the City is a wonderful city occupying a special place in history and in the heart of every Greek. All know of it and many have visited it.
