Distinctions in the American Mathematical Society (AMC) International Competitions AMC 10B and AMC 12B<\/h2>\n

On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, 24 students of Mandoulides Schools junior high school (9th<\/sup> grade)and senior high school (10th<\/sup> grade) participated in the American Mathematical Society International Competition AMC 10B and 6 students of the senior high school (11th<\/sup> and 12th<\/sup> grade) in the International competition AMC 12B. Due to the suspension of operation of all senior High Schools of the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki, the students of grades 10th<\/sup>– 12th<\/sup> participated in the competitions through the applications of Ms Teams and Ms Forms. The students answered 25 multiple choice questions in 75 minutes.<\/p>\n

The students who excelled in the AMC 10B competition are:<\/p>\n

1st<\/sup> award: P. Liambas (10th<\/sup> grade)
\n2nd<\/sup> award: K. Konstantinidis (10th<\/sup> grade)
\n3rd<\/sup> award: A. Giannakis (9th<\/sup> grade)<\/p>\n

The students who excelled in the AMC 12B competition are:<\/p>\n

1st<\/sup> award: H. Karafillia (12th<\/sup> grade)
\n2nd<\/sup> award: A. Argyropoulos (11th<\/sup> grade)
\n3rd<\/sup> award: P. Tzartzi (11th<\/sup> grade)<\/p>\n

The student named P. Liambas qualified for the next phase of the competition, American Invitational Mathematics Examination II (AIME II), which is taking place on Thursday, March 18, 2021, since he was ranked in the top 5% of participants worldwide.<\/p>\n

This was the tenth year in a row that Mandoulides schools have taken part in the AMC competition.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning the students of Mandoulides Schools who excelled in the AMC 10 and AMC 12 competitions in the previous years:<\/p>\n
