The Panhellenic Biology Competition, which is held in conjunction with the International Biology Olympiad (IBO), aims to select and promote talented students of the country interested in dealing with biology. At the same time, it enables students to test their knowledge and skills, as well as to participate in the International Biology Olympiad.
The four (4) highest scoring students in the Panhellenic Biology Competition will participate in the 29th International Biology Olympiad (IBO), where they will have an excellent experience getting in contact with equally distinguished students from around 60 countries. If they win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place (the gold, silver or bronze medal respectively), they are given the opportunity to enroll in university departments provided the subject of Biology is considered to be an orientation course for their admission. All students attending General and Vocational Senior High Schools that follow the Greek National Baccalaureate curriculum are entitled to take part in both the Panhellenic Competition and the Olympiad.
