Kindergarten-Elementary School is founded. The vision of the great teacher and visionary Evangelos Mantoulidis becomes reality and a school bearing his name is founded in Thessaloniki.

The idea that nurtured his dream of a modern Greek education with a European dimension and an ecumenical perspective, - an idea that requires courage, but also virtue, commitment, and effort- is transformed into a school, an educational institution.

The vision is growing. The Junior-Senior High School is founded. The restless and committed founder aims higher. There is always more for him. He is not easily satisfied. He is not complacent nor rests.

The Schools celebrate their 20th anniversary at the new and modern cultural and sports centre. The doors of the world’s universities are wide open. The student Εva Tsoukalidou is admitted to Harvard. The same year, students of our Schools were admitted to the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki faculties with high marks, with Alexandros Karentzos admitting to Medical School, Vasiliki Kapsali admitting to Law School, and Charis Karasiotos admitting to Engineering School. Since then every year, the Schools have been opening up pathways both in Greece and abroad. Besides, education is not a one-way street! Almost 95% of our students succeed in admitting to schools of high demand, while a large percentage of students have the chance to study in the best universities in the world without an IB diploma, following the “STUDIES ABROAD” preparatory program.

Sports is also one of Evangelos Mantoulidis’ main objectives. Basketball, his childhood dream, was a must ingredient in his life recipe. The Basketball Team was first 8 times in Greece in Schools Championship Basketball. In 1999, the Basketball Team won first place worldwide in Israel, in 2005 second place in Poland, in 2009 third place in Turkey, and in 2019 fifth place worldwide.

The student of our Schools Giannis Tsoukalidis, upon winning in 1998 and 2000 the bronze medal in Portugal and China, becomes an Olympiad champion in Informatics with a silver medal in Finland. Οff to a great start! The Olympiad distinctions soon became a tradition. Our student Christos Mantoulidis is proclaimed an Olympiad champion in Informatics, with a silver medal in Mexico and a bronze medal in Croatia a year later. These were followed by a gold medal, four silver ones, and a bronze one in Mathematics, 2 bronze ones in Biology, a bronze one in Astronomy, and a gold one in Formula 1. The Schools promote excellence!

The second schools are founded. New buildings are added, new students are enrolled, new dreams are born.

Evangelos Mandoulidis passes away suddenly in spring.

The first International Student Literature Conference is held in Istanbul, in cooperation with Zografion High School, under the auspices of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, dedicated to the great Greek novelist Alexandros Papadiamantis, a unique, innovative, and highly instructive figure who is an example of intellectual activity in these critical times.

The School was honored by the great presence of His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomaeus, as part of the celebration of 35 years of operation.

Mandoulides Schools are selected by Microsoft as “Microsoft Showcase School”. This distinction constitutes a recognition of all the innovative activities and educational programs applied for years, focusing on the use of new technologies both in education and administration. The Flipped Classroom, Watch & Learn, Case Studies, Art & Science Days, Entrepreneurship Programs, and healthy eating programs such as NOUTREE render innovation a prerequisite and a necessity and realize the vision of a modern and smart school.

The Schools complete 40 years of contribution to education and culture.
