The students of 1st Grade accepted writer Nina Zafireiou’s invitation to take part in the presentation of her book “Dreamcatcher” (Varfi Publications) on Saturday, 16 February, 2019 at Konstantinidis Bookstore.
There they had the opportunity to meet the writer in person and help her with the narration of her story, which takes place in a distant country and its heroes come from two Indian tribes. Our little students played the role of the Indians and presented a short dramatization of the story, showing how a stolen dreamcatcher can bring peace between two Indian tribes.
They became the heroes of the book, Smiley Flower and Sad Tree, and they were inundated with emotions such as anger, rage, fear, sadness, joy and love. The Smiley Flower overcame its initial fears and, with the help of the Dirty Sock, it managed to teach love to the Sad Tree. Finally, after a rainmaking ritual, the rain came to the Indian village.
The children went on an imaginary trip to this distant country and learned that sharing with others is what real love is all about!
