“Can empathy be eaten?” wondered the 2ndgrade students, on Saturday, October 19, at Konstantinidis bookstore.
The occasion was the presentation of F. Foteinaki’sbook, which teaches us all – both young and old- that empathy is an acquired skill, one that must be cultivated methodically and purposefully from childhood to ensure mental health and emotional fulfillment.
In a world increasingly in need of warmth and connection, the messages of this book resonated with many.
During the presentation, through interactive activities, the children grasped the importance of sharing feelings with one another, each time stepping beyond the narrow confines of their own selves.
Our young participants enjoyed the discussion with the author and left filled with beautiful images and experiences.
