9th INTERNATIONAL STUDENT LITERATURE CONFERENCE
KIKI DIMOULA. THE POET.
MARCH 19 – 23, 2025
Under the auspices of the Ecumenical Patriarchate
Students, academics, writers, actors, musicians and journalists will participate in the 9th International Student Literature Conference on the theme: “Kiki Dimoula. The Poet”, to explore the life and work of the great Greek creator.
The Conference is organized by Zografeion Lyceum and E. Mandoulides Schools of Thessaloniki, under the auspices of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and will take place in Istanbul, at the Zografeion Lyceum, from March 19 to 23, 2025.
The 9th International Student Literature Conference will feature discussions led by distinguished scholars, authors, poets, journalists, artists, and students from 31 schools (public and private) in Greece, Istanbul, Nicosia, Larnaca, Imbros, Johannesburg, and New York on the following topics:
- “Climb onto the universe’s ledge”
- Mythical Figures in Kiki Dimoula’s poetry
- “Love / a noun”. The presence of love in Kiki Dimoula’s poetry
- “A suspended lady”: Places, roads, and journeys in Kiki Dimoula’s poetry
- The body in Kiki Dimoula’s poetry
- Outlining Kiki Dimoula’s (stylo-)linguistic identity
The conference will be inaugurated by His All Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
Alongside the discussions, there will be concerts, theatrical performances, discussions, and guided tours of the Bosporus, the Sea of Marmara, Prinkipo, and Halki.

- “Tribute to Kiki Dimoula” – Maria Farantouri Concert – Grand Pera, 19/03.
Maria Farantouri will perform musical adaptations of Kiki Dimoula’s poems, as well as songs from her repertoire, accompanied on piano by Achilleas Gouastor. - “The World’s Little”
A performance of words, images, and music with Olia Lazaridou
Director Thodoris Gonis presents “The World’s Little”, a personal anthology of Kiki Dimoula’s poetry featuring verses, imagery, and music. On stage, actress Olia Lazaridou selects and reads poems from Dimoula’s entire body of work while composer Christos Theodorou accompanies the recitation with music. The performance is enhanced by a visual intervention from artist Andreas Georgiadis, who, through video projections, reconstructs the light and color of the poet’s universe. - “A day with Kiki Dimoula”

Using tools from creative writing and physical theater, participants will reflect, interpret, and create both individual and collective poetic compositions and performances, drawing exclusively from Kiki Dimoula’s unique “Dust”.
