Mandoulides Schools, as part of the educational activities they develop, organized the “Mandoulides Python Camp”, to capture the 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade students’ interest in Programming and Algorithmic Thinking.
More specifically, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade students of the Schools attended the final competition and the award ceremony of the 8th and 9th Grade teams that participated in the “Mandoulides Python Camp 2024”. The final phase of the competition was held at the Cultural Centre of the Schools and 50 students participated in teams of 5 representing their classes. Through the competition, the 3 winning teams of 8th Grade and the 3 winning teams of 9th Grade were selected.
The 8th and 9th Grade students were introduced to programming and learned to perform basic operations with variables in the Python programming environment, a high-level language. Through a 5-week program, they were taught how to write their own code and solve algorithmic problems. Upon completing the program, they could make their own applications in Python.
