A Senior High School student and a Junior High School student earned significant places in the 3rd and final phase of the 30th Panhellenic Astronomy High School Competition and will take part in the summer training that leads to participation in International Astronomy Olympiads.
More specifically:
E. Vasileiou – Avgoustoglou (10th grade) placed 10th and received the 7th honorable mention. She will take part in the summer training in hopes of securing one of the top five first spots that lead to the 18th International Astronomy Olympiad, which will take place in Mumbai, India, in August of 2025.
L. Toumanidis (8th grade) placed 7th and received the 4th honorable mention. He will participate in the summer training camp of the Pre –Olympiad Youth Astronomy – Astrophysics Team, aiming for one of the top five positions that qualify for the 4th International Junior Astronomy Olympiad, which will take place on October of 2025.
The final phase of the 30th Panhellenic Astronomy High School Competition was held from March 15 to March 16 in the auditorium of the Department of Economics at the University of Thessaly in Volos.
