On September 17, Mandoulides Schools hosted representatives from three distinguished liberal arts colleges: Barnard, Pomona, and Williams. Our speakers, Ruby Bhattacharya (Barnard, NY), Joel Hart (Pomona, CA), and Dean Mendes (Williams, MA), offered thoughtful insight into the character and spirit of their institutions.
The session highlighted the values that define the liberal arts: close faculty connections, intellectual range and the freedom to explore across disciplines. Students asked questions, compared perspectives and imagined themselves within different campus cultures.
It was time well spent on the students of the Studies Abroad Program; an exchange that left us with much to reflect on and much to look forward to in the work ahead.
