In an atmosphere filled with emotion and reflection on the values of freedom and national independence, this year’s celebration of the October 28, 1940 anniversary took place once again.
Students from the Junior and Senior High Schools gathered at the Gymnasium of the Cultural and Sports Center to participate in the Blessing of the Bread, held in honor of the patron saint of Thessaloniki, Saint Demetrius. Following this, honors and awards were presented to students who had excelled academically during the previous school year.
The keynote address was then delivered, and students from the 9th grade contributed to the event by reciting testimonies of soldiers and presenting historical documents, honoring those who sacrificed their lives to defend our freedom and nation. Their contributions sent a powerful message of peace and solidarity.
