The Mixed Music Ensemble Echochromata [Orchestra & Choir] of Mandoulides Schools traveled to Austria, where it presented a special concert in Vienna, at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, on 25 April 2026. The trip and concert took place following an honorary invitation from the Holy Metropolis of Vienna and the Greek community of the city.

The title of the concert, A Scent of Greece, reflects its essence: a bouquet of music and songs by distinguished Greek composers such as Manos Hadjidakis, Evanthia Reboutsika, and Dionysis Savvopoulos; artists who have shaped Greek music as well as the more than 30year history of the school’s music ensembles. The ensemble has even had the honor of collaborating multiple times in live performances with the latter two composers.

A particularly memorable moment was the participation of lyrical singer Xanthi TokmakidouTrifunović, a member of the Greek community in Vienna, who performed as a soloist and also conducted the choir of the Holy Metropolis of Vienna, which opened the concert.

The atmosphere inside the historic church was both majestic and deeply moving, as the students delivered the repertoire with exceptional artistry. Students from Grade 7 through Grade 12 worked together to create an outstanding artistic result.

It is worth noting the significant contribution of alumna Natalia Giogiou on the accordion, an addition that elevated the artistic level of the concert and highlighted the enduring collaboration between graduates and current students of the school.

The arrangements and direction of the Echochromata ensemble were overseen by Mr. Giannis Polymeneris, while the teaching and direction of the choir were led by Ms. Eleni Theodoridou.
