On May 12, the students of the Junior High School Environmental Team visited the facilities of “The Smile of the Child” (“Child and Family Support Center” of the Organization) in Epanomi, Thessaloniki. The “Child and Family Support Center” aims to provide holistic support to families facing serious living difficulties, offering food, clothing, as well as counseling, educational, and psychosocial services.

The purpose of the visit was the donation of three large packages containing selected, recycled clothing from the sorting factory of TexCycle. These clothes were provided to our School through a donation from the textilerecycling company, as a gesture of recognition and appreciation for their ongoing collaboration. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to learn about the Center’s work and to tour its facilities, guided by the local representative of the Organization.

Mandoulides Schools have been collaborating for three years with TexCycle, which has installed special recycling bins on campus and has organized environmental awareness sessions for the students. Since the beginning of the clothingrecycling program, approximately 1,300 kilograms of textile waste have been collected in the bins and transported to the company’s factory for sorting and recycling.

Therefore, the quantity of clothing delivered to “The Smile of the Child” by the Junior High School Environmental Team constitutes a joint donation from the Schools and TexCycle, aiming to support the Organization’s demanding and highly significant charitable mission.
