On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the 24th Individual Student Chess Championship of Thessaloniki – Halkidiki for Junior High Schools and High Schools was held. The main organizer of the event is the Thessaloniki – Halkidiki Chess Clubs Association (ESSΘ-Χ). The championship took place at the facilities of Vasileiadi Schools in Thermi, Thessaloniki.
In the competition, our students achieved significant distinctions: K. Misios (2nd grade of Junior High School), who won 2nd place in his category and a silver medal; N. Adamopoulou (2nd grade of Junior High School), who placed 2nd among the girls in her category and received a silver medal; A. Nikaki (3rd grade of Junior High School), who won 1st place among the girls in her category and a gold medal; and M.-K. Skodras (1st grade of High School), who won 1st place in his category (High Schools) and a gold medal.
Noteworthy performances were also achieved by F. Nikakis (1st grade of Junior High School), who placed 6th in his category, and O. Chasiotis (1st grade of High School), who ranked 5th in his category.
