The students of Pre-Kindergarten attended the educational program “Forest: The Green Lab”, by the team of design and implementation of educational, recreational and sports programs “Little Heroes”.
The children learned about life in the forest and its contribution to the quality of our lives. They were trained to orient themselves in the forest using a compass but also in natural ways.
They also learned how to make a shelter out of reeds. Afterwards, they tried to calculate the ages and heights of trees, based on specific characteristics, and to make nests for small birds to place on the trees. Finally, the children enjoyed the forest, playing a hidden treasure game.
The purpose of the program was to provide children with an experiential understanding of the relationship of forest to ambient air, water, soil, climate, biodiversity and recreation.
