As part of World Environment Day, the 2nd and 4th grade students visited the “Sotir” Center for Rehabilitation, Social Support, and Creative Activities for People with Disabilities. In a very welcoming and beautiful setting in Nea Kallikrateia of Chalkidiki, the children actively participated in environmental activities and games. Through these experiences, they were able to understand abstract concepts and terms taught at school in a hands-on way. Following the “Green Trail” in the Center’s botanical garden, the students played environmental games and discovered many of nature’s treasures! All the children left with presents and hopes for a better, more sustainable tomorrow.
What made their experience even more special was the presence and participation of the students of the “Sotir” Center, who led the workshops, played, sang, and collaborated harmoniously with the young visitors. Everyone felt like one big, united team.
Actions like this confirm the belief that in today’s world, there should be no discrimination when it comes to the right to live. Because in life, there are no categories of people. There are only people!
The visit to the “Sotir” Center was truly a life lesson for all of us!
