In an emotional and celebratory atmosphere, this year’s 12th grade graduation ceremony was held, on the Junior – Senior High School premises. Mr. Giorgos Papanastasiou, Director of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies (Manolis Triantafyllidis Foundation) – Assistant Professor of the Department of Philology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, addressed the graduates and urged them to “live their new life in all its forms.” The President of Mandoulides Schools, Mrs. Aikaterini Mantoulidou, gave the closing speech to the graduates. Responsible for the organization of the event was Aspa Hasioti, General Director – Director of the 2nd Junior High School.
During the graduation ceremony, awards were presented to graduates who were admitted to top universities in the U.S. and Europe, who distinguished themselves in international and national competitions in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and showed outstanding performance in Computer Science, Forensics, in conferences abroad, in Greek language, music, theater, dance, painting and, of course, sports competitions.
The Evangelos Mantoulidis Award was presented to graduate K. Mavromati, who gave the closing speech on behalf of this year’s graduates, while E. Pamporis and M. Palaskos gave this year’s graduates’ student address. Members of the Alumni Association Konstantia Kallara (Political Scientist at Aristotle University) and Irida Papadopoulou (Mathematician at Aristotle University) spoke briefly, while the Regional Director of Education of Central Macedonia, George Karatasios, gave a short address. During the ceremony, an honorary award was presented to Despoina Sarantidou, Deputy Director of the Schools and English teacher, for her many years of contribution to education, on the occasion of her retirement.
