Innovative platform for students’ healthy diet
Mandoulides Schools are the first schools in Greece to design an innovative platform for a healthy diet called “NOUTREE.”
The platform, which was designed in collaboration with nutritionists and in accordance with the GDPR protocol, offers students the opportunity to adopt a healthy and balanced diet using a digital application which employs gamification in order to promote healthy diet.
The students can receive products from the school canteen by using a special digital card or a wearable. Using this technology, parents will be able to:
• be informed of the products that their children consume at school.
• be aware of their children’s eating habits and the nutritional value of what they consume compared with their personal healthy eating goals, their nutritional needs and the food choices of their classmates.
• activate their children’s profiles and select the amount of money that they want to credit to their accounts.
• prohibit the consumption of certain food products by their children.
Childhood obesity is a serious health problem. 39.000.000 children under the age of 5 were overweight or obese in 2020. Greece is ranked among the top 5 countries in Europe regarding childhood obesity (Source: World Health Organization, 2021).
