9th, 10th and 11th grade students of E. Mandoulides Schools had a unique Career Orientation experience: “Success Stories,” which took place at the Theater of the Cultural and Sports Center of the schools.
Distinguished professionals were invited to the event and shared their personal journeys toward professional success, offering valuable advice to students.
More specifically, the speakers included: Christos Iordanidis, CEO of Synapsecom Telecoms S.A., Dr. Shelly Mohindra, Managing Director της Sidapharm, Evangellos Taratoris, Analyst at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. and Mandoulides graduate, and Antonia Vogt, Ph.D in Surgery from the University of Cambridge, also a Mandoulides graduate.
The event was moderated by journalist and author Kostas Bliatkas, who facilitated a dynamic and sincere discussion between the speakers and the students.
The General Director of the school, Dr. Aspa Chasioti, welcomed the guests and referred to the school’s consistent and enriched career orientation programs, such as the Entrepreneurship Programs, “100 Mentors”, the Three-Day School Career Orientation Event, and the Virtual Enterprise initiative.
Students actively participated by asking questions that reflected modern concerns and real dilemmas. They inquired, for example, what the speakers would choose if they were starting their careers today, and whether they would prefer a socially prestigious job with low pay or a more profitable job without public recognition. They expressed their anxiety about what determines success more: hard work, talent, or luck. They sought advice about the future of a 16-year-old who must make his first career choices and asked how difficult it is for a Greek to adapt professionally while living abroad in our days.
The speakers’ answers were honest, encouraging and filled with inspiration. The common message was that success requires loving what you do, being dedicated, working hard, and not being afraid to take risks or change course when needed. They also emphasized that beyond skills and circumstances, what truly matters is the courage to follow one’s own path with consistency and faith.
The event left a strong impression on the students, providing them with knowledge, ideas, and above all, inspiration for the future.
