On Tuesday, March 11, 10th-grade students from the School participated in the educational program “NextGen” as part of the 27th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
They watched the film Speak, an eye-opening documentary that introduces us to a world where words hold power and rhetoric is the key. The film follows five talented teenage debaters as they prepare for the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) Competition, facing some of the toughest challenges – ranging from educational budget cuts to censorship that threatens to silence their voices.
The film captures their fascinating journey which is filled with the euphoria of victory and the disappointment of defeat. A documentary rich in emotion, passion, and hope, it reminds us that true power lies in the ability to use one’s voice to change the world.
