Mandoulides Schools are proud to participate as a partner in the Teacher Academy for Maker Education (TAME) project, a 36-month Erasmus+ cooperation partnership involving nine organizations from five European countries.
The project aims to reshape teacher education by integrating Maker Education — an innovative, hands-on, and creative approach that combines digital tools, problem-solving, and collaborative learning.
The participating institutions will work together to co-design training frameworks, implement pilot activities, organize mobilities, and establish a sustainable Teacher Academy platform that supports the continuous professional development of teachers across Europe.
The project’s kick-off meeting was held in Tallinn, Estonia, from May 22 to May 23, hosted by Tallinn University. During the meeting, project objectives and work packages were presented, followed by meaningful discussions on international cooperation, upcoming mobility opportunities, and practical implementation planning.
Special focus was put on the development of a competence framework and training modules for both pre-service and in-service teachers. Additionally, the foundation was laid for the project’s data management plan and communication strategy.
Mandoulides Schools were represented in the meeting by Ms. O. Dantsi, Principal of the Junior High School.
Main Objectives of the TAME Project
- To integrate Maker Education into initial and ongoing teacher training
- To design, test, and implement innovative training formats for educators
- To foster international collaboration and peer learning across institutions
- To ensure long-term impact through systematic evaluation and feedback
- To establish a shared Teacher Academy that will continue beyond the project’s duration
- To support policy development that scales successful practices at national and European levels
Through these objectives, TAME aspires to bring about lasting change in how future and current teachers are prepared for creative and digitally enhanced teaching.
