The subject of Geography is extremely important in education. Its inclusion in the elementary school curriculum aims to broaden students’ horizons and equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to understand and face the challenges of the modern world.
In Mandoulides Schools, recognizing the importance of all the teaching objectives of the course and aiming to develop both geographic and digital skills for our students, we collaborate with the professor of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Mr. Nikolaos Lambrinos, by integrating the Geographic Information System software platform “ArcGIS Online” in the Geography lesson for the 5th and 6th Grade students.
As part of this program, children, working in groups, become “little cartographers” and make their own digital interactive maps.
Without exaggerating, the use of “ArcGIS” transforms Geography learning into an express process, while it is an exciting experience for the students full of cooperation, interaction, creation, fun, and passion!
