On Saturday, September 27, 2024, a recycling-focused event took place at the Cultural and Sports Center of Mandoulides Schools. The event was organized by the “Infinite Green Force” team, which will represent the school in the global finals of F1 in Schools 2024. It was attended by 6th-grade students.
The aim was for the older students to inspire the younger ones with their passion for environmental protection. The «Infinite Green Force» team has organized similar events in the past, as their performance in the competition is also evaluated based on broader community activities beyond their main focus in STEM.
The audience was given a brief presentation on the F1 in Schools competition, which highlighted the school’s previous success in 2016 in Austin, Texas, where the team was crowned world champion. In addition, there was a presentation on recycling and proper waste sorting to ensure effective waste management.
The «Infinite Green Force» team consists of students from E.Mandoulides Schools A. Naoum, H. Samara, and A. Tsopoulou (11th grade) and students from a public school in Serres, G. Emmanouilidi, K. Kasapi, and X. Mpatsogianni (12th grade), as the competition requires collaboration between a private and a public school.
The global finals of F1 in Schools 2024 will be held in late November 2024 in Saudi Arabia.
Congratulations to all the students on their progress so far, and best of luck in the finals!
