Students and teachers visit Mandoulides Schools as part of the ERASMUS+ program “FuturEU students as transmitters of cultural heritage”

From 11 to 16 November, 2019 Mandoulides Schools received a group of Erasmus+ KA2 partner school teachers and students, as part of the program “FuturEU students as transmitters of cultural heritage”.

The group was welcomed to the Cultural Center of our school by program coordinator Mrs. O. Dantsi and Junior High School Principal Mrs. F. Bathrellou. Afterwards, they watched journalist K. Bliatka’s documentary “Thessaloniki – The Treasures of UNESCO” and the ceremony ended with the participation of Mandoulides choir and orchestra.

During their visit, the students toured monuments and sites of cultural interest in Thessaloniki as well as the interactive exhibition “12 Olympians” at the TIF. They also walked around the city’s central markets and participated in an experiential traditional pastry workshop at “Averof” pastry shop. In addition, they visited ELEPAP, where they sang and played with the children of the institution and finally they were take taken on a day tour of Vergina and Veria.

In November 2018 our students visited the city of Alytaus, Lithuania and in September 2020 the program will be concluded with our visit to our partner school in Nicosia, Cyprus.
