On the occasion of World Poetry Day on March 21, the students of the 4th grade traveled into the magical world of the Greek language. In the classroom, they explored the work of important Greek poets and writers, discovering how poetry can express deep emotions, values, and vivid imagery.
As part of their Drama Education lesson, the verses came to life and turned into images through the children’s voices and performances. This creative effort was brought together in a digital tribute, where children’s sensitivity meets the richness of our cultural heritage.
As the words of George Seferis remind us:
“Poetry has its roots in human breath—what would we become if our breath diminished?” (Stockholm, 1963).
The children showed us that this breath remains alive and essential.
