Class CB6 of Mandoulides School, in collaboration with the environmental organization “Mamagea,” participated in the “Wonder Waste Management” program as part of the Skill Labs initiative.

As part of the program, students from the class attended six (6) educational sessions from November 26, 2024, and January 21, 2025, gaining knowledge and familiarity with concepts and practices related to proper waste management.

The program concluded with an evaluation session, which was combined with a zero-waste picnic held on the school premises on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The students of the CB6 invited the other 8th-grade classes to join by bringing seasonal fruits and vegetables, nuts, homemade snacks, and treats stored in reusable food containers. The goal was to generate as little waste as possible.

During the event, the students collected and recorded the waste produced and explored the school’s compost bin. A discussion on waste management followed, where they shared their thoughts on the process as well as ideas for future environmental initiatives.

The environmental organization “Mamagea” aims to enhance daily life in cities and neighborhoods. It envisions cities that are green and sustainable, neighborhoods that are active and participatory, and residents who care for and protect the environment. Through innovative approaches, it designs and implements actions that aim to strengthen social cohesion, combat climate change, and foster the creation of communities and human networks.
