For yet another year, the fourth-grade students of Mandoulides Schools took part in the educational program “The Wonderful World of Bees.”
Learning came to life in the classroom through a multimedia presentation featuring videos, images, and interactive quizzes. The students discovered the members of the beehive and the anatomy of the bee, learned about its way of life and its valuable products, and explored the timeless relationship between humans and bees through the art of beekeeping.
At the same time, they created models of the bee’s life cycle and experimented with modeling clay, discovering the “principle of nature’s economy” reflected in the hexagonal shape of the honeycomb.
The highlight of the program was the creation of a collaborative paper beehive, which the children filled with their own handmade bees.
The program concluded with an exciting digital game, in which the true champions proved to be knowledge, appreciation, and respect for this remarkable creature of nature.
