The students of the 1st Grade of Lyceum, the theoretical track of the 2nd and 3rd Grade of Lyceum, the Theater Group, as well as the Orchestra–Choir of the Schools had the opportunity to attend, on Friday, November 21, the theatrical performance «Petrichora» at the Theater of the Cultural and Athletic Center of the Schools.
This is the performance that stood out in Thessaloniki last winter among audiences, critics, and educators, and within just a few months managed to win 2 international and 2 national awards.
Based on the legendary folk song «The Bridge of Arta» and its Balkan variations, the play—already seen by more than 4,000 spectators, poses the crucial question: “What kind of society is this that needs to sacrifice young women in order to progress?”
“Petrichora”, an Epirus dialect word for “petrichor”, the distinctive scent of the earth after rain, is a mystical stage experience that brings centuries-old tradition to life.
