On Thursday, April 30th, selected 9th grade students from our school participated, together with students from mainstream and special education schools, both of primary and secondary levels, in the 1st Student Inclusive Festival (En Festival). The event was held at the Moni Lazariston under the auspices of the Region of Central Macedonia, aiming to cultivate empathy, care for others, and unity among young people.
As part of this pioneering initiative, approximately 650 students were divided into mixed inclusive sub‑groups, each identified by a different color. Every group followed a program of physical and intellectual activities (craft workshops, gardening, goalball, quilling, painting, theatrical performances, musical showcases, inclusive games, dance) within a schedule of 15 simultaneous workshops/actions, coordinated and carried out by disabled artists or inclusive ensembles.
Around the middle of the program, all groups gathered in a plenary session, a shared moment with strong emotional impact, as they experienced the power of collective singing, performing the song “Lithi” by Dimitris Zervoudakis.
