World Museum Day was the perfect opportunity for the 2nd-grade students to enjoy a unique Karagkiozis shadow puppet performance, presented in their classrooms by the Museum Ambulante. The experience was both exciting and highly educational, as the children had the chance to get acquainted with an important part of our intangible cultural heritage.

Karagkiozis, with his humor, witty lines, and distinctive voice, a character once so familiar and beloved by children of past generations, not only entertained but also raised awareness among our students about aspects of Greek history and society. This live interaction with traditional shadow theater reminded us of the value of cultural tradition and the importance of preserving and passing it on to future generations.

This particular event, part of the cultural program “My Homeland in a Thousand Forms through the Ages,” is a prime example of how education and art can meaningfully connect the past with the present.
