Eight students from E. Mandoulides Schools, as part of the DEI FIRST Global Challenge Team Greece, participated in the «FIRST GLOBAL Challenge» Robotics Olympiad, held from September 26 to 29, 2024, at the Peace and Friendship Stadium.
The DEI FIRST Global Challenge Team Greece achieved outstanding results, securing 4th place in the overall ranking of the «FIRST Global Challenge» World Competition among 193 countries. This marks the team’s highest achievement to date.
The participating students from Mandoulides School were: S. – M. Alexandris (11th grade), A. Vasileiou (9th grade), X. Vasileiou (11th grade), A. Kaplanis (12th grade), S. Kouvelas (11th grade), E. Makedou (10th grade), E. Mavridis (10th grade), and X. Toumanidis (11th grade).
The «FIRST GLOBAL Challenge» Robotics Olympiad is a global event that promotes robotics, science, innovation, and technology, bringing together national teams from 198 countries, with participants aged 14 to 18. The organization representing Greece is Eduact- ACTION FOR EDUCATION.
The opening ceremony took place at the historic Kallimarmaro Stadium with great formality and distinguished guests from around the world in attendance.
