As part of the celebration of «World Heart Day» various activities were organized during Sports Day to educate students on how to provide CPR first aid.

The implementation of these activities was actively supported by students who had participated in last year’s CPR competition, as well as those who participated and excelled in the 2023 competition. These students were subsequently trained as trainee instructors for the Organization.

The equipment used for the activities was provided by the school, with additional equipment generously donated by the Humanitarian Organization KIDS SAVE LIVES.

More specifically:

  • A demonstration was conducted in response to a simulated cardiac arrest using a training defibrillator. This presentation was led by 11th-grade students A. Makedou and S. Kisoglou, who have been trained as trainee instructors by KIDS SAVE LIVES.
  • Students and educators interested in learning CPR skills and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) were given the opportunity to receive training. Our school is equipped with two defibrillators on the High School premises and one on the Kindergarten- Elementary School premises.
  • Competitions and games were held using the QCPR LAERDAL app on tablets. The app connects to manikin sensors and provides feedback on the quality of CPR performance, displaying scores as a percentage.
