Outstanding Achievements in the AMC 8 Competition of the Mathematical American Association (MAA)

Eight students from E. Mandoulides Schools achieved significant distinctions in the International Mathematics Competition AMC 8 of the Mathematics American Association (ΜΑΑ). 

More specifically, the students who have been distinguished for their achievements are: 

  • 1st Prize with the 4th highest score in Greece: E. Giouvanopoulos (8th grade) 
  • 2nd Prize with the 8th highest score in Greece: G. Drakoulis (8th grade), S. Ranios (7th grade), K. Spanos (8th grade) 
  • 3rd Prize with the 13th highest score in Greece: N. Lysitsas  (8th grade), D. Pitsegkos (7th grade), K. Stasinopoulos (8th grade), Ch. Floros (8th grade)  

It is worth mentioning that E. Giouvanopoulos ranked in the top 5% of the participants worldwide. 

The competition took place on Tuesday, January 28 and E. Mandoulides Schools participated for the fourteenth consecutive year. A total of 52 students from 7th and 8th-grade students took part in the competition, answering 25 multiple-choice questions in 40 minutes.
