As part of the Book Club program, the 1st and 2nd grade students eagerly participated in the presentation of the book “In the Water,” published by Melissa Publications. This engaging book, filled with rich content and various messages, offers various opportunities for interpretation and reflection. In a simple and understandable way, it addresses the serious issue of ocean pollution while highlighting the importance of protecting the environment through recycling.
Through its pages, the children understood how waste, such as plastics and chemicals, negatively affects marine life and the ecosystem as a whole. They came to realize that recycling and proper waste management are simple yet essential actions that everyone can take to help ensure a sustainable future for all living organisms on the planet.
During the presentation, students participated enthusiastically through drawings, theatrical performances, and songs, conveying to both young and old the message that caring for the environment begins with our everyday choices.
