ay 12, a Municipal Council Simulation was held at the City Hall of the Municipality of Pavlos Melas, organized by the non-profit organization “MoveIT” in collaboration with the Municipality of Pavlos Melas and with the support of E. Mandoulides Schools. The following schools participated in the simulation: 1st Junior High School of Stavroupoli, the 3rd Junior High School of Stavroupoli, the 3rd Junior High School of Polichni, and the 2nd Junior High School of Efkarpia.
The goal of the simulation was to familiarize students with institutional democratic processes related to the life of their community and the local society, and to give them the opportunity to become informed, reflect on, and discuss issues that impact and shape everyone’s daily lives. Ten students from the 11th grade from E. Mandoulides Schools participated, assuming the role of coordinators for three committees that were formed on the following topics: stray animal management, the promotion of sustainable urban communities, and the utilization of public municipal spaces.
The participating students were: M. Athanasa, A. Vasilopoulou, A. Vlahou, M.-E. Devlioti, K. Georgantas, A. Zervoudaki, I. Pagonis, Th. Papagiotopoulos, A. Tavridou, M. Tsatalbasoglou.
