On Tuesday, May 26, as part of the Dukes Schools’ Sustainability Week, a series of environmental activities took place at the Junior High School of Mandoulides Schools.

The awarenessraising activities began with the 7thgrade students, who visited an art exhibition at the Schools’ Cultural Center. There, they viewed and admired artworks created by older students on themes such as the environment, pollution, and desertification. The younger students then voted for the pieces they liked the most.

Next, the older students of the Environmental Team took over. They visited the various classes to present this year’s projects and explain how the Team operates. They also shared key best practices related to everyday habits and wastecollection methods. They encouraged their peers to reflect on different environmental issues, which led to meaningful and productive discussions.

The activities concluded with the Environmental Team presenting artistic photographs taken by themselves or by fellow students, all centered on the theme of the Environment.
