The Grade 2 students at the NOUS Institute of Digital Learning and Communication had the opportunity to enjoy a truly unique experience.

As part of the program “Talking About Us,” which is carried out on a weekly basis by the Grade 2 students and aims to familiarize them with human emotions, the children participated with great interest in the specially designed program “Happiness Lessons.”

Following the example of the Greater Good Science Center at the University of Berkeley, the team at NOUS, through specially designed material appropriately adapted to the age and cognitive abilities of our students, helped them delve into general and abstract concepts such as joy, happiness, self-esteem, and empathy. At a later stage, the children gave form to these concepts with the help of technology.

More specifically, after discussing the topics, the children used tablets, iPads, and computers to work in groups and create a digital film in which they narrated all the things that make them feel happy, as well as what they would like to achieve in the future in order to feel emotional fulfillment. Through the presentation of each group’s work to the rest of the class, it became evident that the children take joy in the happiness of others, while at the same time they understood how important it is in our lives to set healthy goals and dreams for the future.

It was truly a special experience and an original lesson for our little heroes!
