Loukas Toumanídis, a 9th-grade student at our School, was selected along with four other students to represent Greece at the 4th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics for Juniors, held in Piatra Neamț, Romania, from October 18 to 25, 2025.

It is worth noting that his participation was accompanied by an Honourable Mention, which stands not only as a personal achievement but also as a national success in a prestigious international competition. In the face of our student, this distinction honours all young Greeks who pursue Astronomy individually, a subject regrettably absent from the official curriculum, and of course, it also brings pride to our School.

His selection for the Junior Astronomy–Astrophysics Olympic Team followed four demanding qualification phases conducted from January to July 2025, under the exclusive responsibility of the University of Thessaly and the Hellenic Astronomical and Space Society, organizers of the National Student Astronomy Competition held for the past 30 years.
